Why are we buying the conscious collection from H&M? Shocked of what happened in Bangladesh. Etc. The fact is we are always complaining about the little label "Made in China" without thinking about their work conditions.
Thinking about the environment is becoming more and more important for the consumer.
But how can we convince brands to change their fabrics and more important how to change other people's consuming habbits.
Fashion NGO Redress decided that the first step to take was to convince designers to reduce waste in the fashion industry by organizing The EcoChic Design Award.
About the EcoChic Design Award 2013
The EcoChic Design Award is a sustainable fashion design competition challenging emerging fashion designers to create mainstream clothing with minimal textile waste. The 2013 cycle is open to designers in Hong Kong, Mainland China, Taiwan, Singapore, UK, France, Belgium and Germany. Following nine months of inspired design and rigorous judging, eight finalists will compete for career-changing prizes.
It's important to start the discussion about fashion waste.
Because we are the voice of the future.
